Welcome to Paul J. Sumanth Ministries, Inc.

Medical Items Needed Urgently

Can you help us, please? We desperately need your prayers and financial support:

  1. Prayer – for patients and medical staff

Pray for the patients for their recovery.

Pray for their families as they are separated from their loved ones at such a distressing time.

  1. Patient care – to treat those with no funds

Everyone deserves expert care in this time of need. Your gift will help pay for treatment, medicines, and diagnostic tests. Patients infected with the corona virus (CoVid-19) are looked after in isolation wards. Some may require ICU care.

We will also provide food for the patients and their relatives (usually, in India, food is not provided in the hospitals. Under normal circumstances – families bring food as per Doctor’s specifications)

  1. To create another 1,000 beds for Covid patientsOxygen cylinders: we need 300; cost Rs.4,500 (US $62) each

  1. Patient care – Rs.7,500 ($102) will pay for a day’s care for each patient

  1. Portable bedside oxygen concentrators. We are trying to source at least 25 of these – cost Rs.95,000 ($1,286) each

  1. Any amount for ICU care, ventilators and other equipment and for Vaccines.

We may be in grave danger of losing an entire generation who are not being equipped to look up and learn from the Scriptures. Living the Christian life is not an overnight trip, but a continuous life-long journey until the Lord calls us home. Let us not be only hearers of God’s Word, but also be the doers of it as well. To do so, we need to know what the Bible teaches in the first place. Our “fast-food mentality” of having one-minute devotionals should cease and a discipline to sit with the Lord and to hunger and thirst after Him should increase. The stunted spiritual growth of a believer is primarily due to the insufficient intake of the Word of God, and doing what it says.

How Important is God’s Word?  When a book receives the “best-seller” status, we want to get a copy of it – even if we don’t actually read it, but just to say that we have it or know of it.  I too bought many best-seller books like that with the intention of reading them, but I rarely read them completely.  Most best-seller books remain in publication for at the most 25 years.  Well, I want us to think about ONE BOOK that has been on the all-time best-seller list for several hundred years. This book is the “BIBLE”, sometimes referred to as the Holy Scripture(s).

      What are the Scriptures?

The Word (James 1:21-23; I Peter, 2:2)                 Word of God (Luke 11:28; Heb 4:12)

Word of Christ (Col. 3:16)                                    Word of truth (James 1:18); Scriptures of                                                                               truth (Deut. 10:21)

Holy Scriptures (Rom.1:2; 2 Tim 3:15)                  Law of the Lord (Ps.1:2; Is. 30:15)

Sword of the Spirit (Eph 6:17)                               Oracles of God (Rom 3:2: I Pet. 4:11)

II Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness”.

      The Scriptures contain

       ·       All that God wants us to know– His Holiness, His love, His wisdom, His expectations,         His plan of salvation, His sanctification, and His ultimate justice.

      Why read the Scriptures?

Scriptures reveal the laws, statistics, and judgments of God (Deut.4: 5, 15; Ex. 24:3-4)

      • Record divine prophesies (2Pet. 1:19:21)            • Testify of Christ (John 5:39; Acts 10:43; Acts 18:28; I Cor. 15:3)

      • Are full and sufficient (Luke 16:29,31)                        • Are an unerring guide (Rev. 6:23; I Pet.1: 19)

      • Are able to make wise come to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus alone (2Tim 3:15)

      • Are profitable both for doctrine and practice (Tim 3:16-17)            • Are written for our instruction (Rom 15:4)

       Nature of the Scriptures

      • Pure (Ps. 12:6; 11:9; 140; Prov. 30:5)                        • True (Ps. 119:160; John 17:17)

      • Perfect (Ps. 19:7)                                                • Quick and Powerful (Heb 4:2)

What are the benefits of studying the Scriptures

      • Regenerating (James 1:18; I Pet 1:23)                        • Quickening (Ps 119:50, 93)            • Illuminating (Ps. 119: 130)

      • Converting the soul (Ps 19:7)                                    • Making the wise simple (Ps 19:7)

      • Sanctifying (John 17:17; Eph 5:26)                        • Producing faith (John 20:31)

      • Producing Hope (Ps119:49; Rom 15:4)                        • Producing obedience (Deut. 17:19-20)

      • Cleansing the ways (Ps. 119:9)                        • Keeping from destructive paths (PS 17:4)

      • Supporting life (Deut. 8:3; Matt 4:4)                        • Promoting growth in grace (I Pet 2:2)

      • Comforting (Ps. 119::82; Rom 15:4)                        • Rejoicing in the heart (Ps 19:8; 119:111)

       Believer’s attitude towards the Scriptures

      1.     Delight and esteem; we should long after the Word of God and stand in awe of the Word.

      2.     Keep in remembrance.

      3.     Grieve when anyone disobeys the Word of God.

      4.     Hide the Scriptures in our hearts, hope in them, meditate upon them, trust in them, and rejoice in them.

      5.     Obey the Word, pray, and please God.

Therefore, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, daily Bible-reading is a discipline we must practice consistently. It’s part of the sanctification and disciplining process that we go through, till we meet our Master one day. Let us learn and apply the Word in our lives, as there is no greater treasure on this earth than the Word of God!

“Prayerfully and People-buildingly yours,” -  David
